Gossip includes idle conversations, which may or may not be exaggerated or untrue, and it usually harms the reputation of the person under scrutiny as well as the person doing the scrutinizing.

Elder Spencer W. Kimball wrote: “Lies and gossip which harm reputations are scattered about by the four winds like the seeds of a ripe dandelion held aloft by a child. Neither the seeds nor the gossip can ever be gathered in. The degree and extent of the harm done by the gossip is inestimable” (The Miracle of Forgiveness [1969], 54).

There are three groups involved in gossip: ourselves, those who listen, and the people we talk about. Make a commitment to stop gossiping, and then do it. Here is some medicine to cure the gossip disease: (1) Change the topic when your friends start gossiping. (2) Keep quiet so they don’t have people to talk to. (3) Tell them frankly to “speak not evil one of another” (James 4:11).

It has been said that the sin of ingratitude is more serious than the sin of revenge. With revenge, we return evil for evil, but with ingratitude, we return evil for good.

I submit that it takes neither strength nor intelligence to brood in anger over wrongs suffered, to go through life with a spirit of revenge, to waste one’s abilities in planning retribution. There is no peace in the nursing of a grudge. There is no happiness in living for the day when you can have revenge.

She just received an email from you, saying that her letter was "deleted, unread". What kind of an uncaring,cold-blooded, joke of a minister are you, hmmm? She also said that at the advice of a member of your "church", she has been calling you for over 11 years, and you never once returned her calls. I think this is something your peers and cult followers need to be made aware of. You have been warned.
